Question:

The income of A is 20% less than the income of B and the income of C is 70% of the sum of incomes of A and B. The income of D is 25% more than the income of C. If the difference between the incomes of B and D is ₹23000, then what is the income(in ₹) of A?

Options:

28000

26000

32000

25000

Correct Answer:

32000

Explanation:

The income of A is 20% less than the income of B

so , A  : B = 4 : 5

Let income of A = 40 & Income of B = 50

The income of C is 70% of the sum of incomes of A and B = 70% of 90

= \(\frac{7}{10}\) × 90 = 63

The income of D is 25% more than the income of C = 63 ×  \(\frac{5}{4}\)

= \(\frac{315}{4}\)

A : B  : C : D = 4x : 5x : 63 : \(\frac{315}{4}\)

A : B  : C : D = 160 : 200 : 252 : 315

The difference between the income of B & D = (315 - 200 )x = 115x

According to question ,

115x = 23000

x = 200

Income of A = 160 × 200 = 32000
