Which of the following symbols represents NAND Gate?

The correct answer is Option (1)

A NAND gate is an AND gate followed by a NOT gate: its output is the inverse of the AND output, \( Y = \overline{A\cdot B} \).

Option (1) shows a two-input AND gate whose output is fed into a NOT gate, so it gives \( \overline{A\cdot B} \), the NAND function.

Note: This question is from the pre-rationalised NCERT book (2022-23). The topic was removed from the latest NCERT book (2026-27), and it also appears to be out of the CUET 2026 syllabus.
