The table below shows the number of overs bowled and the number of wickets taken by five bowlers in a match.

If in each over every bowler bowled 6 balls, in that match which bowler had bowled the highest number of balls per wicket taken by him?

Lets solve one by one for each option .

1. Jadeja

Number of balls per wicket = \(\frac{8× 6}{3}\) 

= \(\frac{48}{3}\) 

= 16

2. Bumrah

Number of balls per wicket = \(\frac{5× 6}{1}\) 

= \(\frac{30}{1}\) 

= 30 

 

3. Ashwin

Number of balls per wicket = \(\frac{6× 6}{1}\) 

= \(\frac{36}{1}\) 

= 36

4. Jaspreet

Number of balls per wicket = \(\frac{6× 6}{2}\) 

= \(\frac{36}{2}\) 

= 18\

So , Highest number of balls per wicket is for Ashwin.
