In Oct 2023, the country’s first semi-high-speed regional rapid rail service, Namo Bharat, was launched in India. Previously known as RapidX, this innovative project is on the cusp of revolutionizing regional connectivity. This marks the introduction of the Regional Rapid Train Service (RRTS) in India. First train is between Meerrut and Delhi.

Namo means to bow to in Sanskrit. Namo Bharat would mean to bow to Bharat. It's not an acronym, else it would have been all capital.

The RRTS is a new rail-based, semi-high-speed, high-frequency commuter transit system with a design speed of 180 kmph.
