Question:

ΔPQR is an isosceles triangle with PQ = PR = 25 cm. If PS is the median on QR from P such that PS = 7 cm, then the length of QR is:

Options:

48 cm

42 cm

45 cm

38 cm

Correct Answer:

48 cm

Explanation:

We know that,

PQ = PR = 25 cm, (Isosceles triangle )

 PS = 7 cm

In triangle PSQ

PQ2 = PS2 + QS2

=252 = 72 + QS2

= QS = 24 cm

QS = \(\frac{1}{2}\) × QR

QR = 2 × 24 = 48 cm
