Time, Speed and Distance

Question:

Distance between A and B is 880 km. Two trains start running towards each other with the speed of 130 km/hr and 90 km/hr respectively. Find the time taken by them to meet each other.

Options:

3 hours

7 hours

4 hours

6 hours

Correct Answer:

4 hours

Explanation:

Relative speed in opposite direction = 130 + 90 = 220 km/hr

Total Distance = 880 km

Now,

Time = \(\frac{Total\;distance}{Relative\;speed}\) = \(\frac{880}{220}\) = 4 hrs.
