Question:

A container contains 48 litres of buffalo milk. From the container 8 litres of buffalo milk was taken out and replaced with cow milk. This process was repeated further 3 more times. How much buffalo milk is there in the container now ?

Options:

22 litres

23.14 litres

24 litres

24.5 litres

Correct Answer:

23.14 litres

Explanation:

The correct answer is Option (2) → 23.14 litres

The successive Dillution is,

Remaining Quantity = Initial Quantity × $\left(1 - \frac{Replaced}{Total}\right)^n$

[n = number of times of process]

$=48×(1-\frac{8}{48})^4$

$=\frac{48×625}{1296}=23.14\,L$
