Note:The given answer is as per NTA but it is incorrect in terms of the data given in NCERT (Pre Rationalised NCERT). The correct answer should be Option 4 as explained below.

As per Old NCERT Book (Chapter Infrastructure), the following were the shares of different  sources of power generation in 2016:

Thermal sources accounted for 67 per cent of the power generation capacity.

New and renewable sources accounted for about 17 %.

Hydel power accounted for 14 per cent,

Nuclear power accounted for only 2 per cent.

This chapter has been deleted from the rationalized books of 2023.

Note: As per NTA the answer is Option A: (B), (D), (A), (C) which is wrong.
