Question:

The diameter of a copper sphere is 6 cm. It is beaten and drawn into a wire of diameter 0.2 cm. What is the length of the wire?

Options:

36 cm

360 cm

3600 cm

306 cm

Correct Answer:

3600 cm

Explanation:

Diameter of sphere = 6 cm

Diameter of wire = 0.2 cm

Volume of cylindrical wire = Volume of sphere

$⇒πr^2h=\frac{4}{3}πR^3⇒\frac{4}{3}×\frac{22}{7}×3^3×\frac{7}{22}×\frac{1}{0.01}=3600cm$

∴ Length of wire is 3600 cm.
