Question:

Study the graph and answer the question:

The number of families whose monthly expenditures on education are ₹2,500 or more but below ₹4,000 is what percentage more than the number of families whose monthly expenditures on education are ₹4,500 or more but below ₹6,000?

Options:

37.6

27.3

29.8

36.4

Correct Answer:

37.6

Explanation:

Number of families with income b/w 2500 & 4000 = 47 + 55 + 70 = 172

Number of families with income b/w 4500 & 6000 = 52 + 43 + 30 = 125

Required percentage = \(\frac{172 - 125}{125}\) × 100

= \(\frac{47}{125}\) × 100

= 37.6
