260 kg rice is divided in three parts such that the first part is 5 kg more than the second part and its ratio with the third part is 1 : 3. The three parts (in kg) respectively are:

Let us conside that ,

First part has = ( x + 5 )kg

And ratio of first to third part is 1 : 3

So, Third part is = 3 (x + 5 ) kg

According to question,

x+(x+5)+3(x+5)=260

$5x=240$

x=48

So, First part is = ( 48 + 5 ) kg = 53 kg ,

Second part is = 48 kg
