Question:

Two trains are moving in the same direction at the speed of 36 km/hr and 48 km/hr. The time taken by faster to cross a man sitting in the slower train is 33 seconds. What will be the length of the faster train ?

Options:

770 metres

90 metres

110 metres

180 metres

Correct Answer:

110 metres

Explanation:

Relative speed ( when both trains moves in same direction ) = 48 - 36

= 12 km/h

x km/h = x × \(\frac{18}{5}\) m/sec

= 12 × \(\frac{18}{5}\) m/sec

Time taken = 33 sec

Distance = 12 × \(\frac{18}{5}\) × 33 = 110m
