Question:

24% of Reena’s salary is equal to 38% of Sunita’s salary. Veena’s salary is two-third of the total salary of Reena and Sunita. If Veena’s salary is ₹62,000, then Sunita’s salary is:

Options:

₹35,000

₹32,000

₹38,000

₹36,000

Correct Answer:

₹36,000

Explanation:

Let Reena's salary = R , Sunita's salary = S

24R = 38S

Ratio of Reena to Sunita's salary = 19 : 12  ----(1)

Veena's salary = \(\frac{2}{3}\) × ( R + S )

ATQ,

\(\frac{2}{3}\) × ( R + S ) = 62000

( R + S ) = 93000

From equation (1)

19x + 12x = 31x = 93000

x = 3000

So , Salary of sunita = 12x = 12 × 3000 = 36000
