Ina 1200 m race, bike A beats bike B by 100 m. Bike beats like C by 100 m in a 600 m race. If bike A beats like C by 30 sec in a 720 m race, then what is the speed of bike C ? |
$\frac{17}{3}$ m/sec $\frac{26}{9}$ m/sec $\frac{17}{9}$ m/sec $\frac{26}{3}$ m/sec |
$\frac{17}{3}$ m/sec |
In a 1200 m race, bike A beats bike B by 100 m Ratio of A : B Distance 1200 : 1100 Speed 12 : 11 ( Ratio of distance and speed is same ) Bike B beats bike C by 100 m in a 600 m race. Ratio of B : C Distance 600 : 500 Speed 6 : 5 ( Ratio of distance and speed is same ) Overall , A : B : C 72 : 66 : 55 According to question, 72R = 720 m 1R = 10 m Now, Distance cover by C = 55 x 10 = 550 m Difference in distance covered by them = 720 - 550 = 170 m Bike C cover this 170 m in 30 sec. Speed of C = \(\frac{170}{30}\) = \(\frac{17}{3}\) m/sec |
