Identify the logic operation carried out by the given circuit.

The correct answer is Option (1) → OR

Both gates in the figure are NOR gates (an OR symbol with a bubble at the output). The second NOR gate has its two inputs joined together, so it acts as a NOT gate.

Output of the first gate:

    \( \displaystyle Y_1 = \overline{A + B} \)

The second gate gets \( Y_1 \) on both inputs:

    \( \displaystyle Y = \overline{Y_1 + Y_1} = \overline{Y_1} = \overline{\overline{A + B}} = A + B \)

So the circuit gives \( Y = A + B \), which is the OR operation.
