Question:

If A took 3 hours more to fill the tank than time taken by A and B together and B takes 21\(\frac{1}{3}\) hours more than the time taken by A and B together, then Find the time taken by A and B together.

Options:

7 hours

9 hours

13 hours

8 hours

Correct Answer:

8 hours

Explanation:

If A = × + (A+B)'s time

   B = y + (A+B)'s time

then time taken by A + B = \(\sqrt {x × y}\)

A  → 3 hours more

B →  \(\frac{64}{3}\) hours more

Then

⇒ A + B take = \(\sqrt {3 × \frac{64}{3}}\) = 8 h
