Question:

The total surface area of a closed hemisphere is 16632 cm3. What is the sum of the radius and the diameter of this hemisphere? [Use π = $\frac{22}{7}$]

Options:

172 cm

168 cm

126 cm

154 cm

Correct Answer:

126 cm

Explanation:

We know that,

Volume of solid hemisphere = \(\frac{22}{7}\)πr3

Total surface area = 3πr2

We have,

TSA of Hemisphere = 16632 cm2

Now, according to the question,

= 3 × \(\frac{22}{7}\) × r2 = 16632

= r2 = 1764

= r = 42 cm

Now, the sum of the radius and diameter = 42 + 2 × 42 = 126 cm
