Option (1) MTP — Not ART. MTP (medical termination of pregnancy) is the intentional or voluntary ending of a pregnancy before full term. It ends a pregnancy, so it does not help a couple have children.

Option (2) IVF — An ART. IVF (in vitro fertilisation), the test tube baby programme, joins ovum and sperm in the laboratory; the embryo is then transferred into the woman (embryo transfer). It helps couples who cannot conceive.
