Question:

How many identical solid cubes, each having sides that are 3 cm long, can be formed by melting a solid cuboid, whose length, breadth and height are 9 cm, 12 cm and 15 cm, respectively?

Options:

50

120

60

90

Correct Answer:

60

Explanation:

We know that,

Volume of cube = a3

Volume of cuboid = l × b × h

Volume of cuboid = 9×12×15 = 1620cm3

Volume of Cube = 3 × 3 × 3 = 27cm3

Let the number of cubes = x

 x x Volume of cube = Volume of cuboid

x x 27 = 1620

 x = 60
