Question:

The distance b/w A and B is 174 km. Two boats start moving towards each other at the same time from A and B. One in upstream and other is in downstream. If their speeds are 9.6 km/hr and 19.4 km/hr respectively in still water, then in how much time they will meet.

Options:

3 hrs

4 hrs

5 hrs

6 hrs

Correct Answer:

6 hrs

Explanation:

Total distance to cover by both boats = 174 km

Relative speed = 9.6 + 19.4 = 29 km/hr

Time to meet = \(\frac{174}{29}\) = 6 hours
