Acetyl salicylic acid is the chemical name of aspirin. Generally the heart attack comes due to the clotting of the blood in the vessels which supply the blood to the heart. Therefore the blood clot blocks the artery and prevents the blood flow to the heart and causes heart attack. Aspirin has property to reduces the formation of the clots in arteries and then to prevent the heart attack. Very low doses of aspirin is suggested to prevent heart attack problems. A general dose of 75 -100 mg of aspirin is suggestible to prevent heart attack. Medications in low doses of aspirin are called antiplatelets because they reduce the accumulation of platelets. |
