You must have studied about bad ozone that is formed in the troposphere and harms plants and animals. There is good ozone also and this ozone is found in the upper part of the atmosphere. It acts as a shield absorbing UV rays from the Sun. Ozone gas is continuously formed by the action of UV rays on molecular Oxygen and also degraded into molecular oxygen in the upper atmosphere.
