A man travel from A to B at a speed of 29 km/hr in 29 min and he travel a distance from B to C with a speed of 39 km/hr in 29 min. Find the average speed (in km/hr) of whole journey.

35 km/hr

34 km/hr

Correct Answer:

34 km/hr

Explanation:

Distance from A to B = 29 × \(\frac{29}{60}\) km

Distance from B to C = 39 × \(\frac{29}{60}\) km                        

Total distance = \(\frac{29}{60}\) (29 + 39) = \(\frac{29}{60}\) × 68 km

Total time = 2 × \(\frac{29}{60}\) hrs.

Avg. speed = \(\frac{total\;distance}{total\;time}\)

Avg. speed = \(\frac{ \frac{29}{60}\;×\;68}{2\;×\;\frac{29}{60}}\) = 34 km/hr
