Question:

If tan (\(\frac{π}{2}\) - 3θ) = \(\sqrt {3 }\), the value of cos6 θ is?

Options:

\(\frac{\sqrt {3 }}{2}\)

\(\frac{1}{2}\)

1

\(\sqrt {2 }\)

Correct Answer:

\(\frac{1}{2}\)

Explanation:

tan (\(\frac{π}{2}\) - 3θ) = \(\sqrt {3 }\)

⇒ tan (\(\frac{π}{2}\) - 3θ) = tan 60°

⇒ 90 - 3θ = 60°

⇒ 3θ = 30 ⇒  θ = 10°

cos 6θ = cos 60° = \(\frac{1}{2}\)
