If 80% of X is 36 more than 60% of Y and 120% of X is equal to Y, then the difference between X and Y is:

Explanation:

80% = \(\frac{4}{5}\) & 60% = \(\frac{3}{5}\)

ATQ,

\(\frac{4}{5}\) × X = 36 + \(\frac{3}{5}\) × Y

4X = 180 + 3Y

4X - 3Y = 180 ------(1)

Now ,

\(\frac{6}{5}\) × X = Y

Put value of Y in equation 1

4X - 3 × \(\frac{6}{5}\) × X = 180

\(\frac{2X}{5}\) = 180

X = 450

Now , \(\frac{6}{5}\) × X = Y 

\(\frac{6}{5}\) × 450 = Y

Y = 540

Now , Difference of X & Y = 540 - 450 = 90
