The average number of boys in S1 and S2 is what percent of the average number of boys in S6 and S8?

Options:

133.33 percent

192.24 percent

172.26 percent

146.15 percent

Correct Answer:

146.15 percent

Explanation:

Total number of boys in S1 & S2 = (31% + 7% ) of 12000

= 38% of 12000 = 456

Average = \(\frac{456}{2}\) = 228

Total number of boys in S6 & S8 = (11% + 15% ) of 12000

= 26% of 12000 = 312

Average = \(\frac{312}{2}\) = 156

Required percentage = \(\frac{228}{156}\) × 100

= 146.15%
