Time, Speed and Distance

Question:

The distance travelled by a person varies directly with the duration of the journey.  If the person travels 784 km in 14 hours, in how many hours will the person cover 1120 km?

Options:

19 hours

22 hours

20 hours

18 hours

Correct Answer:

20 hours

Explanation:

When speed is constant then distance is directly proportional to time.

Hence,

Speed in both case is same, therefore,

⇒ \(\frac{784}{14}\) = \(\frac{1064}{T}\)

⇒ T = \(\frac{1120}{56}\)

⇒ T = 20 hours
