Study the following table and answer the question:-

Numbers of students appeared (A) and passed (P) in an annual examination from four schools P, Q, R and S in five years (2014 to 2018).

Find the difference in avg. no. of students appeared from class S in 2014 to 2017 and avg. no. of students appeared from P in 2014 to 2018.

Total no. of students appeared from S in 2014 to 2017 = 250 + 300 + 320 + 350 = 1220

Average = \(\frac{1220}{4}\) = 305

Total no. of students appeared from P in 2014 to 2018 = 320 + 400 + 440 + 350 + 375 = 1885

Average = \(\frac{1885}{5}\) = 377

Difference = 377 - 305 = 72
