The cost of 5 kg apples and 3 kg oranges is ₹ 535. If the cost of 8 kg apples and 6 kg oranges is ₹ 910, then what is the cost of 2 kg apples and 8 kg oranges?

We have,

The cost of 5 kg apples and 3 kg oranges is ₹ 535 and cost of 8 kg apples and 6 kg oranges is ₹ 910.

5a + 3b = 535 -----1

8a + 6b = 910-----2

Now divide  equation with 2, then we get,

4a + 3b = 455

Subtract 4a + 3b = 455 from 5a + 3b = 535

we get, a = 80

Now put the value of a in either 1 or 2

then b = 45

Now, we have to find, 2 kg apples and 8 kg oranges = 2(80) + 8(45) = 520
