Question:

The volume of a sphere and a right circular cylinder are the same. The radii of the sphere and the cylinder are 21 cm and 14 cm respectively. How much is the height of the cylinder?

Options:

63 cm

56 cm

42 cm

49 cm

Correct Answer:

63 cm

Explanation:

We know that,

Volume of sphere = \(\frac{4}{3}\)πr3

Volume of cylinder = πr2h

We have,

Radius of sphere = 21

Radius of cylinder = 14 cm

According to the question

= π × 14 × 14 × h = \(\frac{4}{3}\) × π × 21 × 21 × 21

= h = (84 × 441) × \(\frac{1}{588}\)

= h = 63 cm
