(A) Located along Hugli River — Correct. The region stretches along the Hugli river for about 100 km, from Bansberia in the north to Birlanagar in the south.
(B) Kolkata - Haora form the nucleus of this region — Correct. Kolkata and Haora form the core of the region. It grew with the opening of the river port on the Hugli.
(C) Establishment of first Jute Mill in 1835 — Incorrect. The first jute mill was set up at Rishra in 1855, not 1835. It began modern industrial clustering in the region. NTA changed one number of the book, and a true line became false. Read every word before you mark the answer.
(D) Partition of the country in 1947 affected it adversely — Correct. The partition of 1947 hurt this region badly.
