A 10 m long, 4 m high and 24 cm thick wall is to be built using bricks having dimensions $25\, cm \times 12\, cm \times 8\, cm $. Number of bricks required is : |

Volume of Cuboid = Length × Breadth × Height Calculation: Firstly, convert the wall dimensions from m to cm, ⇒ Length of wall = 10 m = 10 × 100 = 1000 cm ⇒ Height of wall =4 m = 4 × 100 = 400 cm ⇒ Width of the wall = 24 cm ⇒ Volume of wall = 1000×400×24= 9600000 cm3 ⇒ Volume of each brick = 25×12×8=2400 cm3 ⇒ Number of bricks required to construct the wall = Volume of wall ÷ Volume of each brick = 9600000 / 2400 = 4000 |
