| The development of human rights law was significantly influenced by the Second World War. This sparked a significant upsurge in advocacy and writing about the subject. According to Article 4 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, there are some rights that are claimed to be non-derogable and have a distinctive place in the hierarchy of rights, including the right to life, the freedom of thought, the prohibition of slavery, etc. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights is among the most significant legal texts in this area. Although it isn't a legally binding document in and of itself, the International Court of Justice has frequently cited it in its rulings. The Vienna Declaration and Programme of Action was another such arrangement. By the Vienna Declaration and Programme of Action, all human rights were highlighted as being universal, indivisible, interdependent, and interrelated. |
