Question:

The pie chart given below shows the sales of 7 different companies. The total sales of all these 7 companies are 2880. The sale of a particular company is shown in terms of degree with respect to the total sales of all these 7 companies.

The average sales of G and H is how much percent more than the average sales of D and I?

Options:

18.86 percent

24.25 percent

56.21 percent

22.86 percent

Correct Answer:

22.86 percent

Explanation:

Total sale of G & H = \(\frac{73º + 13º }{360º}\) × 2880

=  \(\frac{86º }{360º}\) × 2880

=  688

Average  of G & H = \(\frac{688 }{2}\)  = 344

Now ,

Total sale of D & I = \(\frac{17º + 53º }{360º}\) × 2880

=  \(\frac{70º }{360º}\) × 2880

= 560

Average  of D & I = \(\frac{560 }{2}\)  = 280

Required percentage = \(\frac{344 - 280 }{280}\) × 100

= \(\frac{64}{280}\) × 100

= 22.86%
