Faiz Ahmed Faiz:
He was born in Sialkot & stayed in Pakistan after partition. He was a leftist in his political leanings. He opposed the Pakistani regime, and his activism and outspoken views led to his imprisonment. His poetry collections include Naksh-e-Fariyadi, Dast-e-Saba (a masterpiece in Urdu literature), and Zindan-Nama. He was regarded as one of the greatest poets of South Asia in the twentieth century. |
