Question:

The ratio of the age of A and B is 3 : 2. The ratio of the age of A, four years ago to the age of B after one year is 4 : 3. Find the present age of B.

Options:

48 years

32 years

24 years

35 years

Correct Answer:

32 years

Explanation:

     A   :    B

     3   :    2

    ↓-4    ↓+1

     4  :     3

\(\frac{A}{B}\)  =\(\frac{3}{2}\)

 let age of  A = 3x and age of B = 2x

Now , according to question

\(\frac{3x-4}{2x+1}\) = \(\frac{4}{3}\)

9x - 12 = 8x + 4

x = 16

B's present age = 2x16 = 32 years
