Options:

3:1

2:1

2:3

3:4

Correct Answer:

2:1

Explanation:

The correct answer is option 2- 2:1.

Murli, Naveen and Omprakash old ratio = 3/8, 1/2 and 1/8

Murli retires and surrenders 2/3rd of his share in favour of Naveen and the remaining share in favour of Omprakash.

Murli share = 3/8

Naveen gaining share = 3/8 x 2/3
                                = 6/24

Omprakash gaining share = 3/8 - 6/24
                                      = (9-6)/24
                                      = 3/24

Gaining ratio = 6/24 : 3/24
                    = 6:3 or 2:1
