Identify an option which says "Management is a profession".
Answer & explanation
Correct answer: option 4
The correct answer is option (4)- Systematic body of knowledge.
A profession is characterised by:
- Well-defined principles
- Formal body of knowledge
- Systematic learning
Management satisfies this because it has theories, principles, and concepts that are studied and applied.
Why others are incorrect:
- Restricted entry: Management does not have compulsory licensing like doctors/lawyers.While many companies prefer MBAs, there is no legal law that stops a non-degree holder from being a manager.
- Based on creativity and practice: This relates more to art, not profession
- Based on experimentation: This relates more to science, not profession.
