Question:

A kite flying at a height of 120 m is attached to a string which makes an angle of 60o with the horizontal. What is the length (in m) of the string?

Options:

$90\sqrt{3}$

$75\sqrt{3}$

$84\sqrt{3}$

$80\sqrt{3}$

Correct Answer:

$80\sqrt{3}$

Explanation:

⇒ Sin \({60}^\circ\) = \(\frac{120}{AC}\)

⇒ \(\frac{√3}{2}\) = \(\frac{120}{AC}\)

⇒ AC = \(\frac{120 × 2}{√3}\)

⇒ AC = \(\frac{240}{√3}\)

AC = 80√3
