Question:

The system of equations x + 2y + 3z = 4, 2x + 3y + 4z = 5, 3x + 4y + 5z = 6 has

Options:

Infinitely many solution

No solution

Unique solution

None of these

Correct Answer:

Infinitely many solution

Explanation:

Since $\Delta=\left|\begin{array}{lll}1 & 2 & 3 \\ 2 & 3 & 4 \\ 3 & 4 & 5\end{array}\right|=0$, (row are in AP with common difference 1)

Similarly $\Delta_{x}=\Delta_{y}=\Delta_{z}=0$.

Hence (1) is the correct answer.
