The distance between two stations A and B is 200 km. A train runs from A to B at a speed of 75 km/h, while another train runs from B to A at a speed of 85 km/h. What will be the distance between the two trains (in km) 3 minutes before they meet ?

According to question ,

Relative speed = 75 km/h + 85 km/h = 160 km/h

As , The remaining distance is covered by them in remaining 3 minutes.

Distance traveled by them in 3 minutes is

= 160 × 3 × \(\frac{1}{60}\)

= 8 km

So , Distance between them 3 minutes before they meet is 8 km.
