Question:

A shopkeeper has a sale of Rs.10,000, Rs.5,500, Rs.8,000 and Rs.10,500 for 4 consecutive months. How much sale must he have in the fifth month so he gets an average sat of Rs.9,000 in five months?

Options:

Rs.10,200

Rs.8,500

Rs.11,000

Rs.9,000

Correct Answer:

Rs.11,000

Explanation:

Sum of sales of five months = 9000 x 5 = 45000

Sum of sales of 4 months = 10000 + 5500 + 8000 + 10500 = 34000

Sale of 5th month = 45000 - 34000 = 11000
