Faiz Ahmed Faiz (1911-1984):

He was born in Sialkot & stayed in Pakistan after partition.
He was a leftist in his political leanings.
Collections of his poetry include Naksh-e-Fariyadi, Dast-e-Saba (a masterpiece in Urdu literature), and Zindan-Nama.
He was regarded as one of the greatest poets of South Asia in the twentieth century.
