Question:

A is 150% of B and B is 40% of C. If A + B + C = 20, then the value of 2B + 3C - 4A is equal to:

Options:

16

14

20

15

Correct Answer:

14

Explanation:

40% = \(\frac{2}{5}\)  & 150% = \(\frac{3}{2}\)

Ratio of B : C = 2  :  5

&   A  :   B  =  3   :  2

So , A : B : C = 3 : 2 : 5

ATQ ,

(3+2+5)R = 20

10R = 20

1R = 2

So , A = 6 , B = 4 , C = 10

Now , 2B + 3C - 4A

= 2 × 4 + 3 × 10 - 4 × 6

= 8 + 30 - 24

= 14
