Note 1: The given answer is as per the official NTA Answer Key, which follows the land areas in Table 2.1 of the pre-rationalised NCERT book. The table gives the areas of regions, not continents: it lists ‘Latin America and the Caribbean’ as a separate region, so its ‘Northern America’ is smaller than the continent of North America. By the actual areas of the continents (Asia about 44.6, Africa about 30.4, North America about 24.7 and Europe about 10.2 million sq km), the order would be (B), (C), (A), (D), i.e. Option (2).
