Two different ideal diatomic gases A and B are initially in the same state. A and B are then expanded to same final volume through adiabatic and isothermal process respectively. If PA, PB and TA, TB represents the final pressure and temperatures of A and B respectively then : |
PA < PB and TA < TB PA > PB and TA > TB PA > PB and TA < TB PA < PB and TA > TB |
PA < PB and TA < TB |
For adiabatic process : \(PV_1^{\gamma} = P_AV_2^{\gamma}\) \(P_A = P(\frac{V_1}{V_2})^{\gamma}\) ... (i) For isothermal process : \(PV_1 = P_B V_2\) \(P_B = P\frac{V_1}{V_2}\) ... (ii) From eq. (i) and (ii) : \(P_A < P_B\) and PV = nRT \(T_A < T_B\) |
