Question:

A, B, and C invested in a business in the ratio of 2 : 7 : 19. Out of the total profit of Rs 25000, they donated 20% to a charitable trust and 30% of the remaining to the covid patients. They shared the remaining amount according to their investments. Then find the share of C out of the total profit.

Options:

8750

9750

9500

8375

Correct Answer:

9500

Explanation:

20%=\(\frac{1}{5}\)

30%=  \(\frac{3}{10}\)

Ratio of Investment or Profit = A : B : C = 2 : 7 : 19

Total profit = 25000

⇒ Remaining profit after donation into charitable trust =\(\frac{25000×4}{5}\)  = 20000

⇒ Remaining profit after donation to covid patients =\(\frac{20000×7}{10}\)  = 14000

Now,

⇒ 2R + 7R + 19R = 14000

⇒ 28R = 14000

⇒ 1R = 500

Therefore,

⇒ C"s profit = 19R = 19 × 500 = 9500
