The difference between the length and the breadth of a rectangle is 16 cm. If its perimeter is 188 cm, then what is its area? |
2375 cm2 2145 cm2 2100 cm2 2050 cm2 |
2145 cm2 |
We know that, Area of rectangle = Length × Breadth The perimeter of rectangle = 2(L + B) We have, The difference between the length and breadth of a rectangle = 16 cm. Perimeter = 188 cm According to the question, The difference between the length and breadth of a rectangle is 16 cm = L – B = 16 ----(A) = 2(L + B) = 188 cm = L + B = 94 cm ----(B) From equation (A) and (B) = 2L = 110 = L = 55 cm Put the value of L in Equation (B) = B = 94 – 55 = 39 cm Area of rectangle = = 39 × 55 = 2145 cm2 |
