Question:

A man takes 5hours 40 minutes  in walking a certain distance and riding back on horse. If he ride both side on horse he would have saved 2 hrs 20 min. How much time does he take on walking both sides?

Options:

7:40 hrs.

7:00 hrs.

8:00 hrs.

8:20 hrs.

Correct Answer:

8:00 hrs.

Explanation:

1st Case : Going by walk + riding on horse

Time taken = 5:40 hrs.

2nd Case : Going & coming back on horse

Time       5:40 - 2:20 = 3:20 hrs.

Therefore, one side on horse takes = 1:40 hrs.

And, one side walk takes = 5:40 - 1:40 = 4:00 hrs.

Walking both sides will take = 2 × (4:00) hrs. = 8:00 hrs.
