Wheat worth Rs. 80 per kg and Rs. 50 per kg is mixed with a third variety in th eratio 1 : 2 : 3. If the mixture is worth Rs. 75 per kg, then the price of the third variety per kg will be equal to :

Let the price of third variety Rs. x per kg.

Ration of 1st, 2nd and 3rd variety = 1 : 2 : 3,

⇒ Total quantity of the mixture = (1 + 2 + 3)kg = 6 kg,

⇒ Total amount of the mixture = 1 x Rs. 80 + 2 x Rs. 50 + 3 x Rs.x = 180 + 3x,

As the price of mixture per kg is 75,

⇒ \(\frac{180 + 3x}{6}\) = 75,

⇒ 180 + 3x = 450,

⇒ 3x = 270,

⇒ x = Rs. 90

Therefore the required value is Rs. 90/ kg.
